Join us Saturday, August 26th, from noon – 4pm, for the launch of a new exhibit that shines a light on the French Settlers of Darling Township. Following the Lower Canada Rebellion (1837), French-Canadians came to Upper Canada (Canada West/Ontario) primarily due to the lumber industry (pine timber). Our new exhibit shines a light on this community from the mid-1800s to the early 1900s. Whether you have French-Canadian ancestors or simply an interest in the history of French-Canadians in Lanark County, please pay us a visit. We are looking forward to hearing from anyone with a French connection.
