(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, February 8, 2021 and Monday, February 15, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 249 calls for service.
The calls included:
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Total: 16
Car / Deer: 4
Parking Lots: 3
Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 4
Impaired Driving
On February 8, 2021 Gregory HIGGINS, age 31 of Stittsville, was charged with one count each of impaired operation –alcohol and impaired operation – over 80mg as the result of a traffic stop on Highway 7 in Tay Valley Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 8, 2021.
On February 14, 2021 Jonathan BONE, age 36 of Kingston, was charged with one count each of operation while impaired – over 80mg and take motor vehicle without consent as the result of an investigation into a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 7 in Tay Valley Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on March 22, 2021.
Domestic Incidents
On February 9, 2021 a 33yr old resident of South Frontenac Township was charged with one count each of assault and failing to comply with release order as the result of a domestic investigation in the Town of Perth. The accused was held for a show cause hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth.
The Lanark County OPP also investigated 3 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.
Thefts
Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 7 theft complaint during the past week.
Frauds
The Lanark County OPP investigated 11 reports of fraud during the past week.
