LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, January 24, 2022 and Monday, January 31, 2022 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 290 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:  21  

Vs Deer: 0

Parking Lots: 4

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 7

Impaired Driving

On January 26, 2022 Jamie FOX, age 27 of Mississippi Mills, was charged with one count of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic stop in Almonte. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on February 28, 2022.

Domestic investigations

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 8 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 3 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 6 reports of fraud this week. (including two separate complaints, on the same day, of people attempting to purchase puppies online)
