LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, November 22, 2021 and Monday, November 29, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 352 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:  47   

Vs Deer: 23

Parking Lots: 5

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 11

Vs Pedestrian: 1

Impaired Driving

On November 28, 2021 Nathan MUNROE, age 21 of Lanark Highlands Township was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 and possession of a schedule 1 substance as the result of a RIDE program in Tay Valley Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on January 10, 2022

On November 28, 2021 Nicolaas VANDUYVENDYK, age 43 of the City of Ottawa, was charged with one count of operation while impaired as the result of a single motor vehicle collision investigation in Almonte. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on January 24, 2022.

Domestic Incidents

On November 22, 2021 a 40yr old resident of Carleton Place was charged with two counts of spousal assault and one count of forcible confinement as a result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 9 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 4 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 1 report of fraud this week.
