Lanark Highlands Hires New Treasurer, Rhonda Whitmarsh

The Township of Lanark Highlands is pleased to announce the hiring of Rhonda Whitmarsh as its new Treasurer. Her first day with the Township is 4 November 2024 with her official appointment to the role scheduled to occur at the Council meeting on 12 November 2024. As Treasurer, Ms. Whitmarsh will undertake the statutory responsibilities of municipal financial management, a role vital to the Township’s fiscal health and compliance with the Municipal Act.
 
A Chartered Professional Accountant with over 21 years of experience as Treasurer for Mississippi Mills, Ms. Whitmarsh is well-versed in the high standards of accuracy, compliance, and resourcefulness required of a municipal Treasurer. Her duties will include managing the Township’s general ledger, tax billing, accounts, and investment of surplus funds, in addition to preparing the annual operating and capital budgets. These responsibilities demand rigorous oversight and strong communication with Council and senior staff to ensure transparent and effective fiscal planning.
