LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, July 26, 2021 and Monday, August 2, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 444 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:      36

Vs Deer: 6

Parking Lots: 8

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 6

Impaired Driving

On July 29, 2021 Joshua DEVLIN, age 32 of Drummond-North Elmsley Township, was charged with one count each of Impaired operation – over 80 and impaired operation – alcohol or drugs as the result of a traffic complaint in Montague Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on September 20, 2021.

On July 30, 2021 Kristina PILYPAITIS, age 51 of the City of Ottawa, was charged with one count each of Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle –over 80 and impaired operation – alcohol or drugs following a single vehicle collision in Beckwith Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 23, 2021

On July 31, 2021 Sheena AKOOMALIK, age 44 of the City of Ottawa, was charged with one count each of Impaired operation – over 80 and impaired operation – alcohol or drugs as the result of a single vehicle collision on Highway 7 in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 30, 2021.

On July 31, 2021 James McALLISTER, age 48 of the Town of Carleton Place, was charged with one count each of Impaired operation – over 80 and impaired operation – alcohol or drugs as the result of a collision investigation on Rosamond Street in the Town of Carleton Place. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on August 30, 2021.

Domestic Incidents

On August 2, 2021 a 28yr old resident of the Town of Carleton Place was charged with one count each of spousal assault and dangerous driving and three counts of mischief as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 4, 20021.

The Lanark County OPP investigated 12 non-criminal domestic dispute during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 18 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 2 reports of fraud this week.
