(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, June 28, 2021 and Monday, July 5, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 390 calls for service.

Motor Vehicle Collisions
Total: 29
Vs Deer: 4
Parking Lots: 4
Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 4
Vs Bear: 2
Cyclist: 1
Impaired Driving
On June 29, 2021 Simon BERTRAND, age 35 of the Municipality of Mississippi Mills, was charged with Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle –over 80 following a traffic complaint on Waba Road in Mississippi Mills. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 26, 2021
On July 2, 2021 Kassandra BEAUCHAMP, age 28 of the Town of Carleton Place, was charged with one count each of impaired operation –over 80 and impaired operation – alcohol or drugs as the result of a traffic complaint on Highway 7 in the Town of Carleton Place. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on September 6, 2021.
Domestic Incidents
On June 29, 2021 a 42yr old resident of the Town of Carleton Place was charged with spousal assault and criminal harassment as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on July 19, 2021
The Lanark County OPP investigated 6 non-criminal domestic dispute during this week.
Thefts
On July 2, 2021 Jeffrey SMITH, age 44 of no fixed address, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime and theft of a motor vehicle as the result of a suspicious vehicle complaint on Lammermoor Road in Lanark Highlands Township. The involved vehicle had been reported stolen from the City of Montreal on June 30. The accused was held for a bail hearing.
Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 23 theft complaints during the past week.
Frauds
The Lanark County OPP received 4 reports of fraud this week.
