(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, October 11, 2021 and Monday, October 18, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 378 calls for service.

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, October 11, 2021 and Monday, October 18, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 378 calls for service.
The calls included:
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Total: 33
Vs Deer: 12
Parking Lots: 3
Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 4
Vs. Bear: 1
Impaired Driving
On October 22, 2021 Michael LEWIS, 41yrs of age, of the Town of Perth, was charged with one count of operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a single vehicle collision on Highway 7 in the Municipality of Mississippi Mills. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 22, 2021.
Domestic Incidents
On October 18, 2021 a 42yr old resident of Merrickville was charged with one count each of failure to comply with release order, fail to comply with probation order and obstruct peace officer as the result of a domestic investigation in the Town of Perth. The accused was held for a show cause hearing.
On October 23, 2021 a 43yr old resident of Beckwith Township was charged with one count of spousal assault as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on December 20, 2021.
The Lanark County OPP also investigated 7 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.
Thefts
Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 6 theft complaints during the past week.
Frauds
The Lanark County OPP received 3 reports of fraud this week.
