LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, September 13, 2021 and Monday, September 20, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 378 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:      26

Vs Deer: 3

Parking Lots: 1

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 1

Vs Pedestrian: 1

Impaired Driving

On September 16, 2021 Abe WALL, 40yrs of age, of Lanark Highlands Township, was charged with one count each of operation while impaired –alcohol or drugs and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic complaint on Wolf Grove Road. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 25, 2021.

On September 19, 2021 Liam EMON, 21yrs of age of the Town of Perth, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic stop on Drummond Street West in Perth. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on October 25, 2021

On September 19, 2021 Jason FARR, 49yrs of age of the Town of Perth, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a single motor vehicle collision investigation on Buttermilk Hill Road. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 8, 2021.

Domestic Incidents

On September 17, 2021 a 23yr old resident of Greater Madawaska Township was charged with one count each of spousal assault and uttering threats as the result of a domestic investigation in Carleton Place. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 25, 2021.

On September 17, 2021 a 26yr old resident of Carleton Place was charged with one count each of spousal assault and domestic mischief and two counts of failing to comply with undertaking as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 10 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 14 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 5 reports of fraud this week.
