LANARK COUNTY OPP DETACHMENT WEEKLY NEWS

(LANARK COUNTY, ON) – Between Monday, September 27, 2021 and Monday, October 4, 2021 officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 376 calls for service. 

The calls included:

Motor Vehicle Collisions

Total:      24

Vs Deer: 7

Parking Lots: 4

Single Motor Vehicle off Road (“in ditch”): 3

Impaired Driving

On September 28, 2021 Mary FATORICH-CREAMER, 62yrs of age, of The Town of Carleton Place, was charged with one count of failure or refusal to comply with demand as the result of a traffic complaint. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on December 13, 2021.

On October 2, 2021 Brittany McCOSHEN, 23yrs of age of the Town of Smiths Falls, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80 as the result of a traffic stop on 9th Line of Beckwith Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 29, 2021

Domestic Incidents

On September 28, 2021 a 47yr old resident of Drummond-North Elmsley Township was charged with four counts of spousal assault as the result of a historic domestic investigation in Drummond-North Elmsley Township. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 25, 2021.

On September 29, 2021 a 23yr old resident of Perth was charged with one count of spousal assault as the result of a domestic investigation. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on November 1, 2021.

On September 30, 2021 a 24yr old resident of the City of Ottawa was charged with one count of uttering death threats as the result of a domestic investigation in Carleton Place. The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on December 13, 2021.

The Lanark County OPP also investigated 5 non-criminal domestic disputes during this week.

Thefts

Officers of the Lanark County OPP investigated 3 theft complaints during the past week.

Frauds

The Lanark County OPP received 4 reports of fraud this week.
